Human Resources Assistant


Mithun seeks a Human Resources Assistant to join our creative team of architects, interior designers, landscape architects and planners.  The HR Assistant supports HR functions including recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, professional development and records maintenance while being nimble and enthusiastic about providing overall office and facilities support firm-wide.  The ideal candidate has a career path in Human Resources; executes tasks, projects and all interactions with confidentiality, meticulous attention-to-detail and succinct communication; and maintains the highest level of customer service with internal teams and external clients/vendors.  With heavy scheduling being common, the ideal candidate demonstrates wizardry and patience with Outlook and appointment shuffling.

Key Responsibilities include:


  • Schedule interviews as requested
  • Post job advertisements
  • Route resumes for upcoming interviews
  • Track postings, interviews and interview follow up


  • Prepare new hire packets and personnel files
  • Set up new hire desks including phone extensions assignments
  • Coordinate orientations
  • Provide select paperwork to accounting and marketing


  • Support with new hire and annual open enrollments, changes and terminations
  • Maintain supply of benefit packets

Professional Development

  • Schedule and tracking of 3 month and annual check-ins
  • Stay on top of timely feedback
  • Distribute check-in forms to employee and reviewer(s)

Records Maintenance

  • Keep all staff information current in appropriate locations
  • Regular filing
  • Annual records purging


  • Processing of departing team members
  • Office safety – OSHA, safety committee, maintaining safety supplies
  • Labor poster maintenance
  • Annual flu shot coordination


  • Degree or concentration in Human Resources or 1-2 years of equivalent experience
  • Superior organization skills and the ability to multitask
  • Customer service oriented including excellent interpersonal skills
  • Software proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience in a professional services firm helpful
  • Prior benefits administration experience desired
