Timber Towers. Inspired by the fantastic International Mass Timber Conference in Portland this week, we’re sharing a view of our work with Katerra developing a prototype student housing community using cross-laminated timber (CLT) technology to transform the way buildings are delivered and perceived. We’re actively studying this rapidly renewable structural material for different building typologies, and are excited by the prospects. Image: Plompmozes

The Mithun Home Team is currently developing an ecological infrastructure prototype design in parallel with the Resilient by Design Bay Area Challenge design phase. This prototype will test hybrid models of housing and ecology. Our aim is to enhance community engagement and excitement through a tangible built project, and to inform evidence-based design of resilient ecological infrastructure that restores habitat and responds to a changing bay shoreline.
