Four Mithun Projects Win AIA Seattle Awards

Date Posted: 11.16.2017

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Seattle chapter hosted the 67th annual Honor Awards for Washington Architecture on November 13 to celebrate excellence in design.

We’re delighted to announce that three Mithun projects received Merit Awards: Weyerhaeuser Headquarters at 200 Occidental, UC Irvine Mesa Court Towers and Wanapum Heritage Center. The trio of projects reflect our work nationally on a spectrum of project typologies—workplace, student housing and cultural facilities, respectively. At the same time, the designs each showcase a uniquely tailored response to their particular site, people and program.

In addition, Chatham University Eden Hall Campus received an Energy in Design Award from AIA Seattle. The design jury was impressed with the exuberant use of sustainable strategies at this new campus for Chatham University. They applauded the project’s integrated and full-site approach to energy conservation and generation to achieve aspirational goals.
