Susan Olmsted

Associate Principal

AIA, ASLA

Susan is a project leader and designer for a diverse range of work including places of learning within K-12 and higher education environments. As both an architect and landscape architect, Susan has an intrinsic understanding of relationships between built structures and the natural environment. Her interdisciplinary insight enables her to keenly envision the dialogue between architectural and landscape elements, to leverage a site’s quintessential assets in developing a place-based environmental response. Susan is an experienced facilitator and is skilled at leading complex stakeholder groups through visioning, programming and design.

 

Susan served as a part-time faculty member for the University of Washington College of Built Environments for many years, where she taught Architecture in the Landscape. She currently serves on the Capitol Campus Design Advisory Committee for the Washington State Capitol, as well as the Board of Advisors for Friends of Seattle’s Olmsted Parks, an organization focused on advocacy and preservation of Seattle’s interconnected system of historic parks and boulevards.
