Seattle Goodwill hopes to start construction in early 2012 on a job training and education center and administrative office complex south of downtown Seattle, said Vice President and CFO Michael Jurich. The project at Rainier Avenue South and South Dearborn Street will be 45,000- to 50,000 square feet and two to three stories. The overall cost, exclusive of the land, is about $10 million.

The complex will expand Seattle Goodwill’s capacity for teaching and job training, and enable it to house its administrative staff on-site. Administrative functions are now temporarily above a Goodwill outlet store at another Seattle site.

Seattle-based Mithun will design the complex and Bellevue-based Foushee and Associates will build it.
