Achieving Energy Efficiency with State of the Shelf Technologies

Bert Gregory, FAIA, CEO and President of Mithun, will moderate a symposium titled Achieving Energy Efficiency with State of the Shelf Technologies at The New York Academy of Sciences featuring speakers Lorey Flick of ADS Engineers and Strachan Forgan of Sasaki Associates
This panel will highlight two examples of innovative design processes resulting in cost-effective energy efficient solutions. Baldor Specialty Foods recently moved into a larger refrigerated warehouse with increased cooling load, but the energy use remained the same due to improvements in mechanical, lighting and building envelope systems. In planning the new Maurice J. Gallagher Hall and Conference Center on the U.C. Davis campus, Sasaki Associates, the Architect for the project, took a holistic approach to sustainability to develop a low-energy and low-water use graduate school and conference facility .
