Living Future Government Confluence: The Social Bottom Line and Collective Action

05.02.2012 Portland, OR @ 8:30am

Erin Christensen, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP ND, Associate Principal , Mithun

Equity is fundamental to our success in addressing climate change, but what does “equitable development” really mean? How can we incorporate social sustainability effectively? Join Erin Christensen of Mithun, Nuin-Tara Key of Oregon Metro and Janet Hammer of Portland State University as they share current efforts to address equity, including existing measures in the Living Building Challenge and EcoDistrict Assessment Methods, as well as policy tools like the King County Equity Impact Review and draft Social Bottom Line Framework. Learn how to use these measures, analyze barriers and how this approach builds value and supports collaboration in the development of restorative communities.
