Mithun is designing the Auraria West Redevelopment to help revitalize downtown Denver. The ambitious project includes a station area precinct plan at the Auraria Higher Education Campus, home to the Community College of Denver, Metropolitan State College of Denver, and the University of Colorado at Denver. Through a public private partnership the three institutions will share facilities including a student center, classrooms, faculty and student housing, and a large underground parking garage. The overall plan includes retail, a twin track transfer station for the RTD light rail system and accommodates a potential streetcar connecting Auraria to the city’s urban core. Phase I is estimated for completion in the summer of 2012.
