La Vida Real
Overview
La Vida Real enhances the quality of life for seniors by creating a hospitality-oriented residential environment that fosters independence, choice, dignity, and privacy tailored to a Southern Californian environment.
Using a Spanish Colonial style, the community expresses the metaphor of a Spanish hill town where the main entry courtyard anchors the “town center” with its civic and hospitality inspired spaces as the main common areas. Residential wings branch from this central courtyard and take on a less formal, “growth by accretion” image, characteristic of buildings developed over time. Facade treatments of resident wings were purposely varied in order to avoid the uniform look characteristic of multifamily developments.
