Maravilla

A landmark senior housing community promotes an upscale, relaxed, outdoor lifestyle

Project Galleries

Maravilla

Overview

Maravilla is the first large-scale senior housing community to be built in Santa Barbara in more than 30 years. The project was conceived to create a landmark senior housing community that responds to local seniors’ strong affinity for Santa Barbara’s upscale, relaxed, outdoor lifestyle. The community’s design integrates seamlessly with the region’s classic Spanish colonial vernacular, optimized for senior living.

Maravilla is built around an organizing principle that makes it easy and intuitive to navigate. Circulation spaces are galleries and loggias that are oriented to vistas of landscaped outdoor courtyards and indoor common spaces.

The Senior Center, Cottages, and Courtyard Apartments were designed by Cearnal Andrulaitis.
