Renton Pavilion

1940's garage becomes a modern event venue

Renton Pavilion

Helping to create a civic heart to a rapidly urbanizing edge city, Mithun’s adaptive reuse turned a circa 1940’s auto garage into the keystone event venue of the newly developed downtown Renton. Existing concrete walls and period timber trusses are the only remaining original elements. State-of-the-art systems, exhibit raised floor, extensive glass for daylighting and a new metal roof have vitalized the building for multiple civic and commercial uses. The centerpiece of a public plaza, events in the new pavilion extend into the this civic space on sunny summer days.
