Summit Slope Park
Overview
This park reclaims a section of the urban fabric and transforms it into a hybrid neighborhood park—half park and half P-patch gardens.
The concept for the park is "urban meander". Like a path through the forest, the site design offers an opportunity to wander, altering the visitor’s path and offering a break from the rigid grid of the city as they pass through a microcosm of lawn meadows and lush gardens with a variety of seating options throughout. The meander also functions as an eddy for the community, a place to gather and feast as a collective with large tables and a barbecue grill for group events.
The pocket-park sized green space packs in a diversity of uses – skate dot, picnic tables, barbecue grills, multi-purpose lawn areas, a p-patch garden, and a meandering path – creating a natural hub for connection and enjoyment.
