UCLA recently selected our Mithun/Solomon office to assist with a significant student life expansion. The effort will deliver 2,000 to 2,500 new student beds as well as academic, recreation and dining amenity spaces to support both undergraduate and graduate students.
The scope includes a master-plan-level capacity study of three primary sites and other potential campus infill sites, followed by building and landscape designs for each. The facilities will assist UCLA in addressing ongoing residential capacity pressures and campus connectivity, and also provide accommodations in support of Los Angeles’ bid to host the 2024 Olympic Games. The exact project phasing will be determined by the Regents of the University of California.
Our project team has collaborated with UCLA Housing and Dining on several student life projects including housing master plans for Northwest Campus and Southwest Campus, as well as Glenrock Apartments and Weyburn Terrace Graduate Student Housing. More information about these projects and Mithun’s national student housing practice is available here.
