What an inspiring community! Sharing some moments from our amazing time at #WeCare2018 working with local youth to create handmade gifts for their family and friends. The best part? Hearing the excitement and pride of these artists about their gifts: “This is the first year I’ve given someone a present.” / “This hopefully will help my dad. A friend of his died and he can’t get over it.” / “One of my family traditions is my uncle always brings us eggnog. This year I’m going to hand him this present and he’s going to say, ‘Kash, you got me a present?!’” Thanks for leading the day, @hermanmiller. We can’t wait until next year!

We had a great time this week participating in the #WeCare2018 holiday event, which helps kids at the Rotary Boys & Girls Club create holiday presents for their loved ones. Our team assembled dozens of canvases and stencils, ready for the creative vision of the artists, aged 5-13. Next up, highlights from the big event!

Balboa Park Upper Yard incorporates up to 120 units of low- and very-low-income housing and ground-floor community-serving space, as well as open space on a connected property owned by BART. We recently gathered as a firm to celebrate our collective work, share project stories and foster connections across offices. The highlight of the day was a lively and rewarding exploration of What We Love: what excites us to get up in the morning / our favorite interaction with a designed environment / what would make a satisfying career. We’d love to hear what you think, too!
