The built environment is a known, critical factor influencing health. Developers, design teams, and community stakeholders have an opportunity to make intentional decisions within each project to promote health. “Promoting Health through Community Development” at the Housing California Annual Conference will challenge participants to apply the Integrated Process for Health Promotion, a vetted public health framework adapted to the design process and deployed within Enterprise Green Communities and LEED, within the context of an actual project. Participants will learn proven strategies from early project teams while engaging the creativity and expertise within their groups.
Mithun Partner Anne Torney will participate in this interactive session with Daniel Lau, Build Healthy Places Network; Meghan Hazer, University of Virginia School of Medicine and Mary Ayala, Enterprise Community Partners.
