Sea levels are rising, challenging our approaches to sustainable coastal design and planning. Increasingly, jurisdictions are requiring
consideration of sea level rise in shoreline project design, with limited guidance on what data or methods to incorporate.

Join Mithun senior associate Christian Runge  for “Designing for Rising Seas.” Through case studies and a panel discussion, this session will share the 2018 Washington State Sea Level Rise Projections (a collaborative effort funded by NOAA and led by Washington Sea Grant), tools for designers engaging with coastal hazards and lessons learned from public landscape architecture projects incorporating sea level rise projections.

Christian’s fellow presenters include Washington Sea Grant environmental outreach specialist Jackson Blalock, J.A. Brennan & Associates principal Jim Brennan, Washington Sea Grant coastal management specialist Nicole Faghin and Site Workshop principal Clayton Beaudoin.
