Heidi Oien

Associate Principal

AIA, LEED AP ND

With a passion for vibrant cities and a core belief that excellent design should be available to all, Heidi has focused her career on the urban realm. During her 18 years of practice as an architect and urban designer, she has led a range of projects that revitalize or catalyze neighborhoods, including: transit-oriented, market-rate and affordable, multi-family housing; sustainable community-oriented public buildings; dense student housing communities; and master plan visions. Heidi’s collaborative style, design eye, and organizational skills allow her to move seamlessly between management and design roles. Her responsive client service and commitment to integrated design ensure that her projects meet the hopes and needs of communities and clients alike.

Outside the office, Heidi’s enthusiasm for a car-free lifestyle, and belief in public participation has led her to volunteer on ULI Northwest’s Housing Taskforce and Seattle’s Neighborhood Planning Advisory Committee, to host ‘Jane’s (Jacobs) Walks’ in her neighborhood, to volunteer for food stability causes, and to lead community design charettes that help residents dream big about their neighborhoods.
