SCRIBED, featuring work by Jared Bender, a builder and fabricator working in Seattle, will be on display through December at Threshold Gallery. Please join us for an opening reception with the artist on Thursday, November 3rd, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
It is uniquely human to take an organic material and manipulate it into something that it is not—plumb, level and square. Jared follows this process by looking at the lineage and quality of a material in the formal terms of contours, lines and spaces created between different parts. This becomes the vocabulary he uses in realizing aspects of craftsmanship, labor and building.
Threshold Gallery was established by Mithun in 2008 to connect people with art, artists and the built environment, as well as to inspire and drive our work as designers. The gallery is located within Mithun’s offices at Pier 56 on the Seattle Waterfront, and is open to the public Monday through Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
