Lopez Common Ground has achieved Net Zero Energy Building Certification (NZEB) by the International Living Future Institute; NZEB is one of three certification paths under the Living Building Challenge. An early pioneer in net zero energy design, the affordable housing community is designed to work in harmony with the site’s natural gifts—sun, wind, water and materials—to enable a partially passive approach for heating, ventilation and hot water.
