deconstruction, featuring work by Kirk Yamahira, will be on display through September 5 at Threshold Gallery. Please join us for an opening reception with the artist on Thursday, July 6, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Kirk considers that subjectivity is formed through the repetitive process of deconstructing existing objects, and ruminating on such process. There is no specific aim to find a meaning, neither in the creative act itself, nor through the creative process. Creation of the artworks comes after this deconstructive process on already existing canvas, separating vertical and horizontal threads.
Threshold Gallery was established by Mithun in 2008 to connect people with art, artists and the built environment, as well as to inspire and drive our work as designers. The gallery is located within Mithun’s offices at Pier 56 on the Seattle Waterfront, and is open to the public Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
