THE GREAT RESET is a series of conversations with building industry professionals who are proactively embracing our changing world. In this session, the second in this series, four panelists from a variety of firm sizes and backgrounds will explore how design professionals are supporting integration of climate and resilience strategies through research and development of new technologies.

Join Mithun associate Emma O’Connor-Brooks and senior associate Robinick Fernandez for “The Great Reset: Research and Technology” to learn about different research and development initiatives and participate in a moderated discussion about diverse approaches as practitioners adapt to design in the Climate Age. As key members of Mithun’s Design for Health research team, Emma and Robinick engaged with developers, policy makers and planners, designers, contractors, property managers, sustainability and health consultants and collaborated with academic institutions to create the beta Centering Health Equity Framework. This open-source action framework is guided by a collective impact theory of change and aims to inspire, mobilize and focus teams within their everyday roles to address health inequities the building industry. The initiative daylights the drivers of health equity and highlights decision-points in practitioners’ sphere of influence in order to multiply health equity opportunities in real estate and infrastructure project delivery.

Emma and Robinick will be joined on the panel by SmithGroup principal Stet Sandborn and HOK senior principal Brian Jencek. Petersen Studio senior associate Maggie Morrow will moderate the discussion.
