Before the Green Schools Conference, join the USGBC Louisiana Chapter for a tour of the Louisiana Children’s Museum, a LEED Gold and AIA COTE award-winning facility within New Orleans City Park. The museum seamlessly integrates into the surrounding watershed providing visitors with environmentally focused indoor and outdoor learning experiences. This site also serves as a stormwater basin for the surrounding community and is a pilot project for the Greater New Orleans Urban Water Plan. The project balances centuries-old passive strategies alongside innovative design elements prioritizing the health and well-being of visiting families.
Mithun partner Rich Franko will lead this tour together with Maria Comiskey of Louisiana Children’s Museum, Kenner Carmody of Waggonner Ball Architecture/Environments, and Sydney Taylor of USGBC Louisiana.
