While designers endeavor to be inclusive, they are often unsure of how to do so and unaware of their influence in upholding gender binaries.

Join Mithun associate and interior designer K Kaczmarek (they/them) and landscape architect Jake Minden (he/him) for “Gender in Architecture,” a panel discussion about gender identity in the built environment. They will join with co-panelists coastal adaptation design strategist and UBC research associate Benji Eisenberg (they/them), and Denvir Enterprise owner Holland Denvir (they/them) to share personal lived experiences and how creating a safer, more comfortable and welcoming world for trans, nonbinary, gender nonconforming and queer users of space, serves all people. Mithun R+D study Designing Beyond the Binary will be featured as part of the discussion.

Register for the free in-person event here. In addition, the discussion will be livestreamed by Designing Beyond the Binary via Instagram.
