Digital Clayground is a new exhibition of ceramic vessels on display at Threshold Gallery. Please join us for a reception with the artist, Phirak Suon, on Thursday, December 7th from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
This series of work merges traditional ceramics craft with 3D printing technology. The collection comprises vessels, planters and candle holders that are inspired by various textiles generated through Gcode. By utilizing computer-aided design, this body of work pushes the boundaries of what can be achieved with ceramics while retaining the familiarity of the material. This ongoing research is a generative process in the hope of integrating digital fabrication into craft practice.
Threshold Gallery was established by Mithun in 2008 to connect people with art, artists and the built environment, as well as to inspire and drive our work as designers. The gallery is located within our Seattle offices at Pier 56, and is open to the public Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
