Please join us for a special presentation and discussion with Preston Singletary and David Franklin. The artists will speak about their backgrounds and select projects, including their collaboration on “Return of the Salmon Spirit,” which has recently been installed in our Mithun Pier 56 office at the Seattle waterfront.

Preston Singletary is a Native American glass artist, and lifelong resident of Seattle. On display internationally, his glass sculptures deal with themes of Tlingit mythology and traditional designs, while also using music to shape his contemporary perspective of Native culture. Forty years of glass making, creating music and working together with elders has put him in a position of being a keeper of cultural knowledge, while forging new directions in new materials and concepts of Indigenous arts.

David Franklin integrates his roots in graffiti with training in native sculpture and graphics to create an instant connection between the viewer and art. His broad portfolio of work incorporates a variety of styles and media, including metal, glass and wood. He specializes in architecturally integrating his contemporary artwork into public and private facilities.

The public is welcome. Please RSVP via email to communications@mithun.com.
