The Seattle Office of Planning and Community Development (OPCD) is seeking $2 million in federal funds to support engagement, evaluation, and planning activities for lidding Interstate 5, a Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) owned right-of-way in the center city of Seattle. The project, led by OPCD and a Community Advisory Board, will promote equity and inclusion, build capacity and work to address past harms caused by the freeway.

Join Mithun principal Dorothy Faris for “Defining a Vision,” the first of three public panel discussions that seek to inform project goals and approaches, build excitement and partnerships in the community, and discuss how the lid fits within Seattle’s urban context. To learn more about the scope and goals for the grant, read the grant application narrative.

Dorothy will be moderating the discussion. Panelists include Shiels Obletz Johnsen partner and senior project manager Ben Franz, and GNN founding principal Shannon Nichol. This event is hosted by Lid I-5 in collaboration with the Seattle Parks Foundation and Allied Arts Seattle.
