The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) has selected the development team of Community Corporation of Santa Monica and Mithun for the 17th St / Santa Monica College (SMC) Station Site, a new transit-adjacent, affordable housing community in Santa Monica, California. The joint development with LA Metro is slated to replace an existing park and ride lot on 117,000 square feet of land surrounding the E Line’s 17th Street / SMC Station.
The winning design proposes four buildings containing 359 homes. The mixed program offers a range of units based on income, as well as ground-floor commercial space, multimodal transit hub, residential community space, open space and parking.
Mithun will provide urban design and planning, architecture and landscape architecture services.
