Join Mithun partner Lynn McBride and associate Veronica Macalinao for an engaging tour of Georgia Tech, with a behind-the-scenes view of women-led architecture projects and groundbreaking sustainable innovation on campus. The session will start at Bud and Val Peterson Residence Hall (previously known as Curran Street Residence Hall) — Georgia Tech’s first new student housing since 2005, designed to meet Passive House and LEED Gold standards. From there, attendees will make their way through the EcoCommons, an eight-acre landscape that integrates native Piedmont ecologies, stormwater reuse and civil rights history. The tour concludes at the iconic Kendeda Building, a Living Building Challenge-certified academic space built with reclaimed timber and low-carbon materials. Don’t miss this chance to explore Georgia Tech’s most inspiring projects and see firsthand how women architects are shaping a more sustainable, equitable future.
Lynn and Veronica’s co-presenters are Lord Aeck Sargent associate Abigail Vu, senior associate Cristy Fletcher and principal and sustainable design director Joshua Gassman, as well as Georgia Tech executive director of Housing and Residence Life Jenny Cotton, and Georgia Tech director of the Kendeda Building for Innovative Sustainable Design Shan Arora.
