Westlake Park Children’s Play Area will be featured in Extraordinary Playscapes, a new gallery exhibition presented by AIA Seattle. Extraordinary Playscapes will examine how play impacts our physical, mental, social and creative health, while telling the story behind some of the most incredible play spaces in the world. Designers in our community are stretching the boundaries of the meaning of play, drawing on experts in health, movement and inclusion to create truly extraordinary play spaces for all.
Westlake Park Children’s Play Area is the first designated play space for children in downtown Seattle. A partnership between the Downtown Seattle Association and Seattle Parks and Recreation, the space provides open-ended play opportunities that spark the imagination for children.
An opening reception for Extraordinary Playscapes will be held Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Center for Architecture & Design. The gallery exhibit will run through September 2, 2017.
