Over two hundred diverse professionals crowdsourced an expert set of recommendations for a model zoning code for resilience in a special session at Greenbuild 2017. The momentum and the power of expert crowdsourcing must not be lost, leading to this follow-up session, or Round 2, of “A Model Zoning Code for Resilient Communities.” The 2017 recommendations are now being collated as expert input into refining the framework for 2018.
Join Mithun partner Bert Gregory for “Round 2! Expert Crowdsourcing the Model Zoning Code for Resilience,” the second-generation model framework and how it can be used in practice. This 2018 session will continue to use interactive tools to provide opportunities to input into the critically needed Model Zoning Code for Resilience and to bring it to a level that can be used by planners to craft regionally specific zoning codes to promote sustainable and resilient development and planning actions. Bert’s co-presenters include Arup fellow Alisdair McGregor and professor and Paul Mellon Chair in Architecture at Carnegie Mellon University Vivian Loftness.
