May is a mission-driven architect with more than 20 years of experience leading urban mixed-use projects that connect people with each other and their environments to create sustainable, socially equitable cities. She is a skilled leader of multidisciplinary teams delivering complex, large-scale and sustainable urban mixed-use office, high-rise residential and higher education projects from design through construction in Canada and the United States. Her expertise results in high-performance, resilient buildings and places through the integration of emerging building technologies including mass timber, neighborhood energy systems and digital building platforms, as well as community asset building tools.
Her built work and community engagement demonstrate May’s belief in the transformative power of design to address urban challenges with a human-centered lens. She contributes regularly to conversations about multifamily housing, transportation and public life, and has been active on initiatives and task forces related to the development of healthy and equitable neighborhoods.
