As part of an ongoing webinar series on the two-year anniversary of the Resilient by Design initiative, the Bay Area Regional Collaborative is hosting a panel discussion of the ongoing community-led efforts to develop resilience strategies in North Richmond. Mithun principal Tim Mollette-Parks will be part of a panel and group discussion, “Applying Local Learning to a Regional Context: Advancing Resiliency in North Richmond.” The panel will present efforts towards resilience on multiple fronts, including shoreline sea level rise adaptations, increased home ownership, pedestrian trail connections and urban green infrastructure through an equity lens. Tim will join residents of North Richmond who will describe their role leading these efforts– the current chapter of the neighborhood’s long tradition of environmental and racial justice advocacy.

Tim’s co-panelists will include collaborators from the Resilient by Design Bay Area Challenge: Princess Robinson from Urban Tilth, Juliana Gonzalez from The Watershed Project, John Steere from Contra Costa County and Andrew Clough of West County Wastewater District. Josh Bradt with the San Francisco Estuary Partnership will moderate the discussion.
