2020 has been a year of extremes and superlatives and will undoubtedly reshape how we design and develop affordable housing for years to come. By its nature, affordable housing and the built environment is designed to last for generations so the work we do today echoes, if not for eternity, then certainly for generations.

After enduring a season of pandemic, extreme weather events driven by natural disaster and economic dislocation on a scale not seen since the Great Depression it is worthwhile to pause and reflect on how we might build differently in the future, to insulate our communities and residents from future adverse events. This year should prove out to be a pivot point on how we think about sustainability, resilience and healthy design in the built environment.

Join Mithun partner Erin Christensen Ishizaki for “Designing Healthy & Green Affordable Housing,” an informative roundtable discussion with some of the leading minds in green, sustainable and healthy building design. Expert panelists will share innovative approaches and practical tips that can be applied to upcoming affordable housing projects to foster more resilient, efficient and healthier communities.

Erin’s co-presenters include National Housing and Rehabilitation Association (NH&RA) president Thom Amdur, Healthy Buildings Network CEO Gina Ciganik, Enterprise Community Partners vice president of national initiatives Krista Egger, ICAST founder and president Ravi Malhotra, and National Housing Trust housing and energy efficiency policy director Todd Nedwick.
