Anthem on 12th has received LEED for Homes Mid-Rise Gold certification from the US Green Building Council (USGBC). The 120-unit mixed-use apartment building is designed to support healthy and sustainable living with features including a fitness room, high-efficiency energy and water systems, and bioretention planters at the courtyard and rooftop terrace for stormwater management. The transit-oriented development is located along the forthcoming First Hill Streetcar line, and benefits from a Pronto bike share station in front of the building on 12th Street.
Anthem on 12th is the first private development at Yesler Terrace in partnership with the Seattle Housing Authority. It is one of three Mithun-designed workforce housing projects with Spectrum Development Solutions in the Spruce Park neighborhood of Seattle between First Hill, the Central District and International District. The two related buildings also target LEED Gold certification, and are currently in construction: Decibel is slated to open in spring 2016 and Reverb will open that summer. By creating shared programming between three dispersed buildings, the projects aim to foster community connections that go beyond the walls of a single residence.
