The “Women of Carbon” documentary, directed and produced by Basia and Leonard Myszynski, shines the spotlight on women decarbonizing the built environment and leading the charge in the climate action revolution. Through their groundbreaking work, they are transforming our relationship with carbon by repurposing living materials, converting waste into valuable chemicals that combat climate change, and spearheading decarbonization initiatives in construction and architecture. Their comprehensive examination of low-carbon building materials and technologies—ranging from algae-based alternative cement and electrified manufacturing to mass timber and greener steel—centers on the next generation infrastructure materials.
Join Mithun partner May So for “Women of Carbon Documentary Screening and Discussion” to view the film and hear a panel discussion featuring four of the film’s innovators. Panelists will share their perspectives on educating the next generation, accelerating transformation of the building and infrastructure sectors to reduce embodied carbon, and designing and developing low carbon buildings that build equity-centered communities.
May will moderate a panel discussion featuring Anyeley Hallová of Adre Development, atelierjones founder Susan Jones, UW College of Built Environments professor Kate Simonen and Erica Spiritos of Erica Spiritos LLC. Additional event information and registration is available here.
