Location:

ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture

New Orleans, LA

Speaker:

Shannon Lee

Date & Time:

10.10.2025 | 2:00pm – 3:15pm

Resilience hubs are community-serving facilities tailored to strengthen daily relationships between neighbors and capacity to recover after emergencies. Hubs can also catalyze city-wide resilience and sustainability.

Join Mithun associate principal Shannon Lee for “Building Capacity with Frontline Communities: Resilience Hubs for All,” a panel presentation that will share the value of resilience hubs — economically, socially and environmentally — across scales of neighborhood, city and region. Panelists will recap lessons learned from designing a wide variety of resilience hubs with community-based organizations in the U.S., including Puerto Rico. Attendees will build an appreciation for the relevance of community-based organizations defining design priorities in the context of climate change, and learn how to apply processes that tailor public engagement strategies to the needs and capacity of each community organization.

Shannon’s co-presenters are Marvel Architects partner Jose Juan Terrasa-Soler and One Architecture & Urbanism founder/principal Matthijs Bouw.
