Join Mithun associate principal Hilary Noll for the “Ferry to the Future: Inside San Francisco’s Grand Transformation of Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island”, a behind-the-scenes tour of Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island — led by the engineers, architects and development team who are bringing this urban revitalization to life. Featuring 8,000 new homes (with both market rate and affordable options), 300 acres of parks and open space, retail, public art and exciting community programming, this visionary redevelopment is creating an environmentally sustainable 21st century San Francisco neighborhood for more than 18,000 residents.
Attendees are encouraged to take the ferry to Treasure Island from the iconic San Francisco Ferry Building. All guests will have the opportunity to visit all sites, which are split into three separate tour segments: Horizontal Work + Parks, Stage 1 Residential and Yerba Buena Island. As part of the Stage 1 Residential segment, attendees will be able to explore and learn about the Mithun-designed Maceo May Apartments, a six-story housing development that provides welcoming and resilient homes for formerly homeless Veterans and their families. The tour will conclude with a reception at Isle House, which offers unparalleled panoramic views of downtown San Francisco.
Hilary will lead the Stage 1 Residential walking segment with David Baker Architects’ Pedram Farashbandi and David Baker; Mark Cavagnero Associates’ Brandon Joo and Katy Hawkins; and One Treasure Island’s Nella Goncalves.
