Seattle Public Utilities’ Longfellow Starts Here is a community-centered infrastructure project aimed at improving water quality and reducing combined sewer overflow (CSO) to Longfellow Creek while delivering community benefits in the Delridge neighborhood. Through an exemplary partnership, community members are meaningfully integrated into the design process, working shoulder to shoulder with SPU staff and City agency partners to identify projects that integrate local priorities with the green infrastructure required to meet CSO control goals.

Join Mithun senior associate Amelia Jensen for “Centering Community in Green Infrastructure Planning” to learn about design workshops and interactive tools that helped elevate lived experience and local priorities alongside technical considerations. Panelists will share challenges, opportunities and lessons learned from inter-agency collaborations and community involvement.

Amelia’s co-presenters are Herrera Environmental Consultants water practice director Alice Lancaster and Seattle Public Utilities GSI program manager Shanti Colwell.
