Hope your Monday is bright and cheerful like this workspace at Levi’s Plaza in San Francisco! We recently completed this interior renovation of an historic building on campus – the design concept focused on planning and circulation around the existing skylight, which brings a wealth of daylight down from the office space above to lounge and gathering spaces on the ground level. 📷: @jamestown.lp

When Mithun was founded in 1949, the global CO2 level was at 311 ppm. Earlier this month it hit 420 ppm. This Earth Day, we mark achievements including our offset of all carbon emissions from firm operations since 2004, and reduction of operational carbon within our design portfolio by more than 70% three of the past four years. We also acknowledge the critical need to accelerate efforts to address global warming. . Please join us in framing 2021 as the Year of Embodied Carbon. We commit to developing version 2.0 of the pioneering 2007 buildcarbonneutral.org, a free online carbon calculator, and measuring global warming potential for every design project. #EarthDay #DesignforPositiveChange #YearofEmbodiedCarbon

A pop of color to brighten your week! Our team joined with San Francisco Parks Alliance and neighbors to paint a temporary sidewalk mural at the site of the future Moss Street Eco-Zone, which will include rainwater harvesting, stormwater treatment, habitat and social space. Located in the city’s Filipino Cultural Heritage District, the mural design alludes to forthcoming public realm improvements that use a traditional weaving motif. 📷: @sfparksalliance

We are thrilled to share that Mithun received two Awards of Excellence in last night’s @WashingtonASLA Professional Awards program! Louisiana Children’s Museum (LCM) was recognized in the General Design, Private Ownership category, and Yosemite National Park Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias was recognized for Research, Analysis and Planning. We are honored to be included among this year’s recipients and thankful to be part of such a thoughtful and creative design community here in Washington. Featured in gallery are the “Hummock Hop” exhibit at LCM and “Fallen Monarch” at Mariposa Grove. 📷: @k7scott, Christian Runge
