Mithun seeks an inspired individual with a passion for sustainable design and materials to curate the firm’s Materials Labs to support our integrated practice of interior designers, architects and landscape architects. The Materials Labs are innovative workshops to inspire designers of all disciplines, foster design dialogue, pique curiosity and discovery and embody our firm’s passion for sustainability and health.

Requirements

  • Curating and maintaining the Materials Labs to ensure they are inspiring representations of the Mithun brand, ethos and passion for sustainability.
  • Researching innovative products and systems.
  • Working with project teams, coaching staff on palette development, and supporting firm initiatives.
  • Building and managing relationships with materials representatives.
  • Forecasting future trends, ordering and organizing samples. 
  • Scheduling and organizing learning opportunities and sharing passion and knowledge of materials with the firm.
  • Tracking material performance.

 Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the design industry.
  • Experience with built work, building palettes and making sound materials recommendations.
  • Experience as an interior designer strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor staff across a range of levels, disciplines and learning styles.
  • Passion for sustainable products and materials.
  • Highly organized and flexible; able to shift gears as priorities change.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated through learning, sharing and teaching.
  • Fluency with current established sustainability and material product sourcing and rating systems (including LEED, LBC and WELL) is strongly preferred.
  • Able to travel occasionally.

Flexible Spending Accounts or Health Savings Accounts are available based on eligibility requirements.  Paid time off includes eight holidays and vacation accrual of two weeks per year. The expected range of compensation for this role is $73,000-$95,000 per year. Pay ranges differ by location.
