There’s no doubt that policies and programs are driving higher numbers of zero net energy (ZNE) buildings in leading states and cities. Panelists in the “A Road Map toward Carbon Neutral by 2030” track at the Getting to Zero National Forum will share the vision of where they plan ZNE policy in the future and innovative code approaches to lock in practice.
Mithun Associate Mike Fowler will explore the story of an outcome-based energy budget proposal submitted to the State of Washington and the progress it has made over the past four years: from being dismissed without a WA Energy Code TAG review in 2012, to an open discussion in 2013 when Washington considered creating an Aspirational Code, to getting a WA Energy Code TAG review hearing in 2015 and a vote of three for, eight against, and two abstained.
