Speaker:

Anne Torney

Date & Time:

05.02.2018 | 9:00 am – 11:00 am

Around the country, developers of affordable housing are among the primary innovators when it comes to understanding the health needs of residents and offering design and programming solutions to address them, but demand for healthy public and affordable housing units far outweighs supply. There is an unmet demand for developers of housing at a variety of price points to invest in health-focused features and programs.

Join Mithun partner Anne Torney for “Healthy Housing for All” to learn about successes and lessons learned from integrating healthy features into projects such as Mariposa – South Lincoln Redevelopment Master Plan, which earned a National Award for Smart Growth Achievement and Equitable Development from the US EPA.

This workshop will also explore ongoing ULI and Product Council research into how processes, policies, financial structures  and achievements can be replicated from health-oriented affordable housing developments to the broader housing marketplace. How can the healthy features provided in affordable housing developments help inform investment and market growth to equitably provide healthy housing for all?
