Eden Hall Campus Commons Dedication and Campus Opening
The Chatham University Eden Hall Campus Commons Center Dedication and Campus Opening ceremony is scheduled for April 28, 2016, 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM, at the Eden Hall Campus in Richland Township, Pennsylvania. The celebration will include a locally-sourced lunch prepared in the Center’s commercial teaching kitchen, tours of the campus and a keynote by Barton Seaver, author, chef and sustainable seafood expert. Mithun President Dave Goldberg will also be speaking at the ceremony.
The first phase of construction at the Eden Hall campus includes a field laboratory for aquaculture, EcoCenter and auditorium, dormitories, Commons Center and intensive landscape restoration. The new 24,000 sf Commons Center integrates a dining hall, classroom and demonstration kitchen that supports hands-on teaching and reduced energy use.
The first university campus planned for sustainability from the ground up, Chatham University Eden Hall Campus is designed to inspire students with a hands-on living and learning environment while fostering educational tourism as a destination and gathering place for thought leaders and innovators. Located on a 388-acre working farm that was a gift to the University, the new net zero energy campus will accommodate 1,200 students within programs from the undergraduate to the doctoral level.
