Explore the vibrant Mission Bay neighborhood of San Francisco through this exclusive walking tour—delving into its rich history, present-day developments and future. Organized by AIA San Francisco and led by architects, urban designers and landscape architects, the tour offers a unique opportunity to experience firsthand the tangible results of innovative design and community integration. New mixed-use, in-fill development has led to the creation of a network of connected urban public spaces, each with a distinct character and use.

Join Mithun partners Anne Torney and Malcolm Harris for “UDIC Walking Tour: Mission Bay Neighborhood” to explore housing projects including Mission Bay Block 9A, 1180 4th Street, and 626 Mission Bay Boulevard North. These projects provide affordable homes and community-serving ground floor uses, while seamlessly integrating diverse communities into the fabric of Mission Bay.

Additional presenters include BASE Landscape Architecture founding principal Patricia Algara; CMG Landscape Architecture owner Willett Moss and associate principal Corbett Belcher; Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure senior planner and urban designer Alok Vyas; and UCSF Real Estate senior planner in campus planning Joy Glasier and assistant director of space and capital planning Sharon Priest. The tour will be led by Urban Field Studio founding partner Heidi Sokolowsky.
