Bringing Life to the Pearl

Lexis on the Park

Portland, OR

Pearl District Redevelopment

A full-block urban infill development within Portland’s Pearl District, Lexis on the Park reflects the strong industrial character inherent in the neighborhood by using a combination of concrete, masonry and metal panels. The mixed-use building helps transform a 34-acre former rail yard with abandoned structures and unused track into a diverse, welcoming urban neighborhood.

Pedestrian Experience

The design creates vibrant pedestrian access through a visually enjoyable system of outdoor spaces that gradually transition from public to private. The building experience begins at the park across the street, passes a light rail station before entering a series of retail shops, and concludes in an intimate interior courtyard.

Connecting to Park, River and City

This transit-oriented development is part of the City’s long-term redevelopment strategy for the Pearl District, and is designed to enhance connections with the adjacent park that reweaves fragments of the urban eco-system by reclaiming Tanner Creek.
