Affordable housing design is tightly driven by the development proforma with the goal of providing the maximum number of quality units possible to help address the housing crisis. As part of the week-long Cascadia Disrupted virtual conference hosted by the Urban Land Institute (ULI) British Columbia and Northwest chapters, the two-part Affordable Housing Mini-Series orients participants in the funding and architectural forces at play shaping Seattle’s housing market—from challenges to best practices.

Join Mithun principals Casey Huang and Doug Leigh for “Affordable Housing Mini-Series | Design” to dive deeper into current and emerging design strategies that maximize the number of units, promote community building and preserve and reflect cultural identity. The presentation will incorporate case studies including Hirabayashi Place, Liberty Bank Building and other affordable housing projects in Seattle.

Casey Huang will lead the panel presentation with InterIm CDA director of real estate development Lesli Morishita and SCIDpda executive director Maiko Winkler-Chin. Doug Leigh will moderate the discussion.
