The visitor experience at Louisiana Children’s Museum (LCM) is designed to connect people with nature from their arrival—moving through groves of live oaks, across water, onto the large ‘lagoon porch,’ through the building and into a courtyard and sensory gardens. Along the way, the periodic mist of Fujiko Nakaya’s cloud sculpture envelopes people on the lagoon bridge, instantly and viscerally creating a magical and inviting space for children, and an immersive water experience.
