COVID-19 has created an unprecedented challenge for low-income individuals and families. In response, Capitol Hill Housing (CHH) has launched a resilience fund to help sustain communities: supporting residents, connecting small businesses to resources to help them survive the closures, and continuing the vital work of CHH. If you’re able, lend your support to help preserve Seattle’s diverse and vibrant neighborhoods. Learn more via link in bio (https://www.capitolhillhousing.org/covid-19resilience/index.php) . We’re thankful for community non-profits that are ramping up efforts to provide the public with educational experiences online during their temporary closure. Our waterfront neighbor and collaborator, Seattle Aquarium launched a new digital program today with videos, activities, trivia and story times around a different theme each week – starting with Sea Otters (March 30 – April 3). Check out the live webcams of charismatic marine mammals and videos of favorite exhibits, including the Harbor Seals and Window on Washington Waters exhibits designed by Mithun. https://www.seattleaquarium.org/experience-aquarium-anywhere

Mithun sustainability integration leader Hilary Noll recently spoke about our approach to justice and equity in design at a U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) event. Check out this brief summary of key takeaways from the panel discussion. As Hilary expressed, “In trying times such as these, the socio-economic disparities of place and environment are felt even more – but it’s also an opportunity for remembering our inter-relatedness and demonstrating collective action.” https://bit.ly/2WIIghK #socialequity #DesignforPositiveChange
