We’re thankful for community non-profits that are ramping up efforts to provide the public with educational experiences online during their temporary closure. Our waterfront neighbor and collaborator, Seattle Aquarium launched a new digital program today with videos, activities, trivia and story times around a different theme each week – starting with Sea Otters (March 30 – April 3). Check out the live webcams of charismatic marine mammals and videos of favorite exhibits, including the Harbor Seals and Window on Washington Waters exhibits designed by Mithun. https://www.seattleaquarium.org/experience-aquarium-anywhere

Some affordable housing providers that we work with in the Bay Area have had to discontinue on-site food pantries as part of current pandemic response. San Francisco-Marin Food Bank is facing an unprecedented challenge to support these vulnerable residents who are currently food insecure, as well as actively preparing to support those who may now be facing hunger as a result of lost hours, wages, or jobs. Learn about their COVID-19 response initiatives including pop-up and drive-through pantries, and how you can help: https://www.sfmfoodbank.org/response-to-covid19/

Attending the Building Museums Symposium in Chicago this week? Join Mithun’s Rich Franko for “Listening to Children—Getting Started on a Visitor Experience Master Plan" at 3pm pm March 5th. Hear about the new Louisiana Children's Museum's unorthodox Reggio Emilia-inspired process to engage young children in the visitor experience master plan, how kids think and express themselves in drawings and words, and LCM’s institutional commitment to continue to keep children at the center of planning, design and future programming. https://bit.ly/2vqR5Sb Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums (MAAM) Studio Matthews #MithunMuseums #DesignforPositiveChange
