We’re thrilled to be showcasing @Weyerhaeuser lumber in our “Sticks and Strings” installation for the 8th annual Seattle Design Festival. This year’s festival theme, TRUST, examines the role of design thinking in bringing together and building trust among diverse communities. The design of @harleymarineservices headquarters transforms a contaminated superfund site into a welcoming campus and exemplary model for 21st century working waterfronts. The site’s three buildings (one is visible in the foreground, at left) are linked by diverse outdoor environments that support maintenance and operations of the company’s barges and tugs, graciously accommodate diverse events, and renew natural shoreline functionality at the water’s edge. All stormwater is detained on site and cleaned using bio- and mechanical filtration before being released into the Duwamish waterway. LEED Gold certified. 📷: @k7scott

The design of Perot Family Offices reflects ambitious goals for health, sustainability and community connection, including direct access to a natural creek corridor and multi-use trail system. A new public plaza space on the Katy Trail is a gift to the community that also serves as a bridge for employees from the building to midday exercise or a walk to lunch. 📷: @brucedamonte

The Mithun Open summer golf tournament has a history that stretches back to the mid 1990s. We had a fantastic day on the course this year, and crowned winners for achievements including first place and longest drive, as well as most lost balls and furthest from first place.

In our latest Creative Series adventure, Jayme Bowen introduced us to the indigo vat dyeing process. Participants used traditional Japanese shibori tie and block-resist methods to create their own unique patterns on silk, linen and bamboo cloth. The breezy pier balcony was ideal for drying and exhibiting the bandanas at the end of the process. 📷: Zhenru Zhang
